The integrated components seem more badass, Hertz and Byte values are rapidly rising, zero-meaningful marketing features' buzz words are popping like popcorn on hot oil, and model designations of laptops have higher integers and more cool letters in them than ever. How is this possible?

Solar Dehydrator: Better to do it badly than read about it!

Well, this was one tough SoB of a project for me.

Let me be clear on this, so there wouldn't be any misunderstandings later in this post: Most of the time I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.

While doing it, I was faintly recalling some of the solar dehydrator projects I found online while surfing the Internet, but followed none of their instructions in detail because I felt at the time that it would be more fun to do stuff badly than to read stuff correctly. Seriously, there is a load of opinions and verbal arguments today, but rarely some real work.

Luckily, I had this detailed specification/ white paper of the project, which helped me through the dehydrator building process:

We shall call this specification a "white paper" from now on. While constantly referring to the white paper, there was no room for error. There were of course some ambiguities on some of the white paper details, but they were easily bypassed by a complete lack of concentration and a complete abundance of alcohol on the project location.

Why on earth would I make an ELECTRIC FENCE against slugs? 

Well, firstly, because I realized that I can, and it sounded like a marvellously cool thing to do. Secondly, because none of the other slug-repellent methods don't really work (coffee leftovers, egg shells, ashes, marigold, whatever, screw it, I like the first reason for making this thing better). And, oh, it is pretty cheap also.

It may as well be some sort of existential crisis in question, but in any case, here we are. Making a composter. With no previous (relevant at least) wooden-stuff-making experiences, I have decided it is about the rightful time to properly punch some nails and screws into some wooden planks.

What is a composter (compost bin) anyway? 

It is the place to throw away the pulp from your juicer. And some other stuff. Anyway, if you decided to read these instructions, you either:

1) Know what a compost bin does.
2) Have read nearly all the Internet, and all that is left to read is this article. In this case, you should also know what a compost bin does, since you have read all the Internet.

So, being able to establish these facts, let us proceed. I have to point out though that there are far better DIY tutorials on making compost bins on the internet, but they are not as nearly as frivolous as this one here.

Since I have bought this thing called cheap cold press juicer, I am testing both our limits by casually throwing everything I get my hands on into its feeding tube. Then, after I drink the resulting strange liquid, I go online to check if those ingredients were a good idea.

To save you the trouble: Internet clearly says that wheatgrass is unbelievably, incredibly, unthinkably, implausibly, and so on, healthy, for us, Earth humans, descendants of The Space Petunia. 

Wheat grass has the apparent ability to cure all the diseases known to humankind, to keep you strong and healthy, to keep you awake at boring lectures and meetings, to gently fix burnt-out christmas lights, to prolong the life of your Google Nexus 10 and upgrade its USB to facilitate native USB Host functionality, and so on. 

So, lets try to squeeze this green motherf****r.

For reasons yet unbeknownst to my mind (I pronounce this expression valid from this day, in case it isn't yet), I sold the perfectly good Rii Mini Wireless Keyboard which was really nice and useful, and found myself with no proper HTPC remote control. 

It was strange.

Epic Comparison: Cold Press vs Centrifugal Juicer

As a progressive consumer, I am not really satisfied with almost anything I buy nowadays. And yes, the term "progressive consumer" doesn't really mean anything in the last sentence. Let's move on. Instant regret is the first thing I experience almost every time after coming home with the new thing and after trying it out. But still, it feels good for about 7 seconds immediately after buying it, so it is worth the weeks of inner conflicts which strike later.

I was happy with my centrifugal juicer for a while (Space Petunia Review defines "happy" as an emotional state which does not make a person blow his/hers head off with a moderately-sized hand cannon, but gives enough room in a definition in a way that a person is allowed to accidentally chop his/hers head off with any available kitchen appliance and/or power tool). Then I realized that with every juice I make, I am throwing away giant piles of pulp, which is still moist and full of life. Of course, that was just an excuse to put away the centrifugal juicer, and get rid of the responsibility of cleaning the thing after every use.

VIVAX SJ-150: Cheap Cold Press Juicer Review

Long ago I've heard about these "slow, cold press juicers", and of all the benefits which they could offer. Unfortunately, that did not motivate me enough to spend 89,273,761,282,423 $ for mere curiosity on their efficacy, so I put those curiosities in the drawer with the rest of the stuff from eBay for which I have no practical use - the fact which did not stop me from ordering tons of them.

And one day, glorious Chinese factories have started to manufacture these things, only 2365 times cheaper. I don't doubt that materials used in these copies are probably far inferior to those used in the expensive original ones, but frankly, I don't care much for that now. I will care of course when it breaks and falls apart, and I assume that will happen about 2 days after the warranty deadline expires.
