This article title probably won't get me far on Google rankings, but I can't stop myself from counting money spent on these devices, which could actually feed me in some other universe.

Tablets everywhere. When I first saw the iPad, I considered it total and utter useless rubbish, and I kept asking myself, and the people and the pink alien around me, what is the deal with this touch-screen torso-less display which makes it sell so much?

Oh yeah, it's the apple logo. Mystery solved.

... But then, other manufacturers started to sell gazillion of these devices.

As I have previously concluded in my article about Why do I Need to Buy a New Phone Every 2 Years, there are only several things I expect from my phone:

1. Decent call quality
2. Possibility to type text messages (fortunately the phone architects haven't decided to kick this functionality out yet, they just change colors of the text bubbles)
3. Decent web browser
4. Decent email browser
5. Decent sound quality for plugging it to the car stereo
6. Decent GPS capabilities and signal strength
7. Decent battery life

Why do I Need to Buy a New Phone Every 2 Years

Every money-consuming time I buy myself a new phone, I think naively to myself - yup, this is it, I won't need any other model, any other NEW phone, this one has it all, now I am finally AT PEACE. Then I would smoke a pipe in a comfy chair, if I would have one, or the other.

And then I start looking for that one bit in the giga-haystack.
